IV Therapy FAQs
Supplements taken by mouth have to make it through the GI tract and liver before being available for use. You often only absorb 20% of what you take orally. IV vitamins and minerals offer 100% absorption.
Many of us are deficient in nutrients, either due to poor nutrition, gut issues, or a nutrient-depleted food chain. In these cases, a nutrient dense IV can have you feeling great. Of course, these aren’t just for people with nutrient deficiencies, it works as a preventative treatment as well. Just about anyone can feel the benefit in some way from an IV!
IV’s take typically take between 30-90 minutes depending on the infusion. The rate of the IV can often be adjusted as needed, but will always be safe and comfortable. The first appointment is slightly longer to give us time to go over your health history and determine what infusion is right for you.
Yes. We pre-screen all patients before anyone receives an IV, and for more advanced IV’s we require recent bloodwork (Complete blood count, Comprehensive metabolic panel). All IV’s are prepared in a clean ISO-5 laminar flow hood, using high quality sterile injectables. The risks of IV therapy include mild discomfort, bruising and pain at the vein, severe allergic reaction.
